It would be great to report good news today. It would be great if we could report that Mark Cuban saw all the luv we got on Twitter, and he wanted us to be on HDNet. Unfortunately that’s not the case.

We received a large number of well wishes and suggestions, but no miracle solution. It’s sucks to have to say this, but we’re officially postponing Spicy RV 3.0. That means we won’t be taking a road trip to Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire this year. This isn’t a cancellation. There’s a good chance we can do another road trip this year, but it’s going to take time to replace our camera gear and rebuild our budget. We would like to give a big thanks to Andrew Baber for suggesting http://www.kickstarter.com, and we will let everyone know when our project is added to their site.

The good news is we have plenty of amazing material left to post. Including the Flamethrower Pizza Challenge, the Bushido Spicy Tuna Roll Challenge, sampling the hottest ice cream on the planet at Sunni Sky’s Homemade Ice Cream, and taking on the “Hot Bar” at Tijuana Flats in Virginia Beach. Not to mention all the fun we had at Peppers at the Beach! Make sure to check in weekly for all the new stuff, and thanks for supporting our stupidity.

Welcome to Spicy RV. By now you we love spicy stuff, and I do the stupid human tricks. And if you don’t know this, just watch a few of our videos. Anyway, as of our last post you still find us in the Big Easy, New Orleans, Louisiana. We’ve been following Bloody Mary on a haunted pub crawl to some of the most haunted bars in the city. We also learned that the ghosts that inhabit the crazy haunted drinkeries have the same love for spicy food as we do.

What I’m doing now is coming to you to bring you a break from all the hauntings and drinkings. Our Bourbon Street adventures diverted with a moment of inspiration. I wanted to wear more beads than anyone on Bourbon. I accomplished that, but I needed a different look. A late night run to the barber fixed that! We had another moment of inspiration after the barber shop that ended up giving us a once in a lifetime moment. Can you say “bead mask”?

We really need our fans and friends help. We don’t talk about it, but the RV we use for our road trips is a rental, and for a 10 day road trip it is VERY expensive. We had the budget for Spicy RV 3.0 cocked, locked, and ready to rock….. until our camera gear was stolen. Now we’re having to spend the 3.0 budget to replace the camera gear since the insurance won’t cover all of our losses. We have to find ways to cut costs or get more sponsorships, and hopefully YOU can help.

Thanks to MicroSearch we were able to shoot some new footage over the weekend in New Orleans (minus the RV). However we can’t expect them to lend us gear for almost two weeks during 3.0. If you or someone you know can help us secure an RV, sponsor us, or find another way to generate some money for the next road trip we are all ears. We’re a little over three weeks away, and we are out of options. If we can’t find a way to recover in the next week, then we will have to cancel the next road trip. If you have any ideas be sure to leave them in the comments section and leave your email address. Thank you for stopping by, and we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.

If you checked in yesterday then you are well aware that our camera gear got jacked. I was about the cancel the trip to New Orleans to shoot a few segments for the diversion we were calling Spicy RV 2.5, but there was one last option. The amazing people at MicroSearch (specifically Carlos) sponsored us for Spicy RV 2.0 & hooked us up with great rates on additional lighting and wireless microphones. They were our last hope to get a camera for this weekend, and they came through!

We now have a camera for the weekend comparable to the one that got stolen, and by comparable I mean better. We should be able to shoot at least one segment on Bourbon Street Friday night (and we will be looking for Willis), and shoot all day at the New Orleans Hot Sauce Show on Saturday. We can’t thank everyone at MicroSearch enough. Make sure to check out their site if you’re doing any type of video recording or production. They have reasonable rental rates on everything from prosumer video cameras to studio quality audio and video gear. Just walking into the showroom feels like you’re in a TV studio. We will post all the video goodness we shoot this weekend after we finish posting everything from the last road trip, so that should be sometime next year.

I’m just kidding…..I hope.

There’s good news, better news, betterer news, and bad news for you today. The good news is there’s a new video for your viewing pleasure. The better news is that it’s really short. The betterer news is that it’s kinda funny. Even though the good folks at South of the Border told us they would give us a release, it never happened. Therefore we can only show you a clip of what could have been, filmed outside, where it’s open to the public. All I can say about this clip is just like at the end of the Sparky’s video, I prove that I like to ride inanimate objects.

Now for the bad news; on Thursday our camera gear got stolen. The scumbags broke into my truck, and we lost pretty much everything we need to shoot. We’re working on a Plan B, but it’s not looking good to shoot in New Orleans this weekend. It also puts our next road trip in jeopardy because it will probably take some time to get the insurance settled and buy new gear. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas feel free to leave them in the comments. Sorry for the downer, but hopefully the video will cheer you up.

P.S. – If you don’t know about “and the bunny love it too!”, check out our vid from Bourbon Street, and fast forward to 3:25 to meet Willis.

Well folks, I’m lucid and relatively sober today, or at least enough so to make words, so you get a write-up with this video authored by yours truly! This video finds us back in Antoine’s, with Bloody Mary showing us more than just the speak easy room. We walk through some crazy old wooden double doors into an area that apparently once served as an old jail. Granted it’s no Alcatraz, but it’s a former jail, and it’s haunted, so it’s an awesome place to be.

As she takes us throughout the place, knocking and whistling here and there to announce our presence, and drizzling liquor about the place as offerings to our living-impaired friends, she takes pictures with her camera. Presumably a normal camera, when she uses it she captures images of these crazy orb things we couldn’t see floating around, playing with us, checking James out, and generally having a good time!

The best fact we learned today? Other than that Bloody Mary wants to take James to one of the abandoned apartments alone next time we’re down? Ghosts like spicy food as much as we do. Granted they can’t exactly travel around to spicy food challenges, what they do is submit requests of some sort to Bloody Mary who brings it out to graveyards for them. Well, that’s enough of my chitter chatter, watch the video and enjoy!

John has been too busy working on his alcohol tolerance to get this bad boy written, so I must be the designated blogger while he recovers. What a LIGHTWEIGHT!

The next stop on Bloody Mary’s haunted pub crawl took us to Hermes Bar at Antoine’s. The lighting was much better than Part 1, but the ghosts were still playing with the audio.

Mary gave us some education about “cooktails”, prohibition, and the history of Antoine’s. When you say “cocktails”, that’s bastardizing the name according to Mary. She teaches us about spraying our cooktails, and we learn the names of all the dead family member that haunt Antoine’s. Are you scared yet? We’re just getting warmed up!

Ok, so maybe not an actual spiritual being, since we’re sure Bloody Mary probably would not have appreciated that very much. No, I ate a ghost pepper. That’s right, the Ghost Pepper, the Naga Morich, the Bhut Jolokia pepper. The spiciest naturally occurring pepper in the world with a Scoville rating of 1.04 million units.

Why? Initiation. And because I was hungry. Yup, I ate it for breakfast. On video, of course, for the whole world to watch me suffer. We’re showing it to you now to distract you from the fact that it’s taking us so long to clean up some of the video we shot due to wretched sound and lighting.

How bad is it, you ask? Stick a microphone in a plastic baggy and feed it to a rhinoceros. Wait 5 hours, kick it in the testicles, and turn the lights off. That bad. But you know what? We’re so good at what we do, we’re fixing it anyway. Not only because we’re good though, oh no, it’s also because we love you. Enjoy!
