Spicy RV Goes To Avery Island!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Spicy RV went to Avery Island. Of course you probably knew this, what with the mapped route and all, but the video is finished, and it’s here for your enjoyment. We met with Harold Osborn, the Vice President of Agriculture for McIlhenny Company, creators, owners, and prophets of Tabasco, the original hot sauce. There, he took us around the factory, showed us how Tabasco is produced, where the bottles are stored, and so much more!
Apparently, if you don’t drill holes in the tops of the barrels, they’ll freaking EXPLODE while they’re aging! Did you know that? Yeah, neither did we! Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to watch some exploding barrels, though I was bad so they put me in a cage at one point. Then we got a tour of the entire island from the back of a deuce and a half, also known as the M35 2.5 ton capacity military cargo truck. We rode in back while Harold drove us around pointing out crocodiles, their nests, as well as other natural wildlife. And believe it or not, they have black bears too. Crazy, I know. In addition to all that crazy fun, we got to do shots of Tabasco with Harold.
Now we know the video is kind of long, but there was so much information, so many cool things happening on that island that we couldn’t shrink it down to a 5 minute video for you. But on the bright side, it’s not drawn out and boring like the Peppers tour, instead it’s action packed, full of great insider info, and of course a few laughs. Enjoy, friends!

Most fields in Latin America??!! ButButBut… I thought it was ALL American Made like the sign says, “Made in USA”!!!! Not all the way I guess…. Dayummmm. I’ve carried Tabasco in my purse or purse-substitute for the past 35 years; I like other sauces but for much there is no substitute. BTW Tabasco Cheezits are a MUST Have camp or road food (but I swear they’re milder now that when 1st produced). Really enjoyed this – glad you’re having fun.
